  • Job Description Summary 

    This unbranded manager role is responsible for the development and execution of unbranded strategy in Virology, with a strong focus on community engagement, patient-centric initiatives, disease awareness, Screening and Linkage to Care (SLTC) programs, and cross-functional collaboration. 

    The position operates in a non-promotional capacity and is focused on fostering meaningful collaboration across the healthcare ecosystem through partnerships with NGOs, patient organizations, healthcare providers, public health stakeholders and community partners. 

    The role will play a key part in supporting disease awareness, screening, testing, diagnosis and linkage to care initiatives across Virology & Inflammation, while ensuring that external insights are translated into meaningful strategies and initiatives that support improved patient outcomes and community impact. 

     

    Job Description 

    • Lead the development and execution of unbranded strategies in Virology, ensuring alignment with broader business and medical objectives. 

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including NGOs, patient organizations, advocacy groups, checkpoints, nurses, healthcare providers, public health stakeholders and community partners. 

    • Act as a key interface between the company and the community and unbranded ecosystem, ensuring structured, compliant and meaningful engagement. 

    • Lead the development and implementation of non-promotional Screening and Linkage to Care (SLTC) initiatives across HIV and viral hepatitis (HBV, HCV and HDV), working with healthcare providers, public health stakeholders, community organizations and patient groups to support disease awareness, screening, testing, diagnosis and linkage to care. 

    • Identify, plan and implement unbranded initiatives, including disease awareness, education, patient engagement and community-based programs at local and national level. 

    • Develop and execute initiatives aimed at reducing barriers to testing, diagnosis and access to care, supporting improved patient journeys and healthcare outcomes. 

    • Generate, analyse and translate external insights related to community needs, barriers to diagnosis, linkage to care challenges, stakeholder perceptions and unmet needs into actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders. 

    • Collaborate cross-functionally (Medical, Public Affairs, Commercial and other functions) to ensure community and stakeholder perspectives are integrated into strategic and operational plans. 

    • Support the development and execution of broader communication and engagement strategies, ensuring that unbranded approaches are appropriately embedded. 

    • Manage external vendors and partnerships supporting unbranded and community-based initiatives. 

    • Contribute to internal alignment and communication plans, ensuring consistency and clarity across stakeholders. 

    • Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, ethical standards and local regulatory requirements, maintaining a strictly non-promotional approach. 

     

    Core Competencies 

    • Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and collaboration, ideally inc 

    • luding nurses, NGOs, community organizations, patient groups and public health stakeholders. 

    • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing disease awareness initiatives, public health programs or patient-focused projects within Virology or other therapeutic areas. 

    • Ability to translate external insights into strategy and execution plans. 

    • Strong experience leading and implementing Screening and Linkage to Care (SLTC) projects, including initiatives focused on disease awareness, screening, testing, diagnosis and linkage to care. 

    • Experience in HIV and/or viral hepatitis (HBV, HCV, HDV) is strongly preferred. 

    • Experience with Screening and Linkage to Care (SLTC) initiatives, disease awareness programs, public health initiatives or comparable access-to-care projects in other therapeutic areas will also be considered highly valuable. 

    • Proven ability to engage community partners, healthcare providers and other stakeholders to support improved patient outcomes and access to care. 

    • Proven capability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams. 

    • Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements within a highly regulated healthcare environment. 

    • Strong knowledge of Virology, with HIV expertise considered particularly important. 

    • Demonstrates understanding of company values and ways of working. 

    • May contribute to broader cross-functional initiatives and projects as required. 

    • Strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution ability. 

    Requirements

    • Experience with community engagement, patient-centric initiatives, disease awareness, Screening and Linkage to Care (SLTC) programs, and cross-functional collaboration within the pharmaceutical sector in Switzerland
    • Local Swiss affiliate experience
    • Fluent English and German skills are a must, French is a plus
