The Role
Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations, prepares and positions patients, operates imaging equipment, adjusts settings, analyzes image quality, and communicates findings to physicians. Requires patient-centered communication, ARDMS registry compliance, continuing education, CPR certification, and annual OSHA and HIPAA training. This is a temporary part-time role working 16–24 hours weekly, with possible additional hours.

Responsible for performing diagnostic sonographic examinations using high-frequency sound waves to image internal organs in the diagnosis of disease and will be responsible for the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Always maintain a professional and friendly attitude with patients and co-workers.
  • Must be dependable, flexible, have strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain procedures to patients and be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Be willing to learn new exams/procedures as needed to be an integral part of the ultrasound team accommodating the needs of our patients and referring physicians.
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to established protocols.
  • Knowledge of ultrasound equipment and imaging techniques
  • Ability to operate and adjust equipment settings to obtain high-quality images.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Analyze images and communicate findings to physicians for interpretation and patient diagnosis.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality of all medical information.
  • Must be knowledgeable of the fundamentals and comfortable with the everyday use of PACS, RIS systems, as well as general computer skills required to complete daily tasks.
  • CPR – annual certification, OSHA and HIPPA yearly training required.
  • Responsible for registering in all areas of ultrasound performed at RMI including ABD, OB/GYN, Breast and Vascular registries, as well as staying current on any and all continuing education.
  • Attendance at meetings and training sessions may be required. These sessions could occasionally be scheduled outside of your regular working hours to accommodate business needs and training opportunities. We appreciate your flexibility and commitment to attending these sessions as necessary to support our team's goals and professional development.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • Minimum of one (1) -three (3) years of experience in a clinical setting

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS

  • Must hold at least one (1) registry with the ARDMS
  • Must continue to maintain continuing education credits and registry requirements in compliance with the ARDMS.
  • Must be willing to register in all ARDMS registries required by RMI including, ABD, OB/GYN, Breast and Vascular. A one (1) year time period is allotted to obtain any new registry.

Temporary Part-Time; Thursday, Friday, Saturday; 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM and 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Additional hours may be available.
16-24 hours, Hourly; Temporary Part-Time, Non-exempt

Skills Required

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • One to three years of experience in a clinical setting
  • At least one ARDMS registry
  • Maintain continuing education credits and ARDMS registry requirements
  • Willingness to obtain required ABD, OB/GYN, Breast, and Vascular ARDMS registries within one year
