About the Role:

The Ultrasound Technologist plays a critical role in the diagnostic imaging team by performing high-quality ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as required by the state of practice.
  • Proven experience performing ultrasound procedures in a clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialized certifications in areas such as abdominal, obstetrics/gynecology, vascular, or cardiac sonography.
  • Experience working in multiple clinical environments including hospitals, outpatient clinics, or mobile imaging services.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a PRN role.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to established protocols and physician orders.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and reporting any malfunctions.
  • Capture high-quality images and document findings accurately for physician review and diagnosis.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to discuss patient history, clinical findings, and imaging results.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all regulatory and safety standards.
  • Manage scheduling and documentation for PRN shifts, adapting to varying clinical demands and locations.
