Position Overview
Mendaera is seeking a Clinical Applications Specialist to help build and scale ultrasound education and clinical competency programs for users of Focalist.
This role is ideal for an experienced ultrasound professional who is passionate about teaching, clinical excellence, and the adoption of innovative medical technologies. You will work closely with customers, clinical teams, product managers, and engineers to develop educational programs, train new users, support clinical deployments, and help shape the future of image-guided intervention.
The successful candidate will combine deep ultrasound expertise with strong communication skills and a desire to help clinicians develop confidence and proficiency with ultrasound-guided procedures.
 
Responsibilities
Ultrasound Education & Training
• Deliver Ultrasound Education & Focalist Device hands-on training to clinicians adopting Focalist.
• Support customer onboarding, competency development, and clinical deployment activities.
• Develop educational content, training curricula, competency assessments, and learning
resources.
• Create and maintain standardized training materials, procedural guidance, and best-practice
documentation.
• Support the evolution of scalable training and certification programs.
Clinical Program Support
• Serve as a subject matter expert in ultrasound imaging and image acquisition.
• Provide feedback on clinical workflows and user experience.
• Support field activities, workshops, demonstrations, and customer education events.
• Assist with internal ultrasound training for cross-functional teams.
Product Development Collaboration
• Partner with product, engineering, and clinical teams to evaluate ultrasound imaging performance.
• Review imaging data and provide clinical feedback to support product development and validation activities.
• Contribute to the development of imaging standards, protocols, and evaluation methodologies.
• Participate in usability studies, verification activities, and clinical research initiatives.
 
Qualifications
Required
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent credential.
• 5+ years of clinical ultrasound experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in image acquisition, optimization, and interpretation support.
• Experience training, mentoring, or educating clinicians, sonographers, or students.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.
Preferred
• Experience as an ultrasound applications specialist, clinical educator, lead sonographer, or ultrasound program instructor strongly preferred.
• Experience developing educational curricula, training programs, or competency frameworks.
• Experience supporting adoption of new medical technologies.
• Experience collaborating with engineering, product development, or research teams.
• Startup, medtech, or healthcare technology experience.

Skills Required
