The UHNW Advisory Strategist will support Financial Advisors in the business development of UHNW prospects and clients by partnering with Financial Advisors to deliver customized portfolio construction expertise and facilitate engagement with UHNW capabilities across the firm. Strategists will anchor on deep investment expertise to deliver custom asset allocation and traditional and alternative manager selection. Advice and guidance is informed by our Chief Investment Office around portfolio construction, investment manager selection and asset allocation and personalized to specific client circumstances. Additionally, Strategists will partner with Specialists across the bank to deliver appropriate solutions spanning: custom lending, trust and estate planning, philanthropic services, business sales and beyond.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with UHNW focused Financial Advisors in assigned territory to educate on team’s capabilities and the value proposition of the UHNW Portfolio Strategies and Analyst.
- Strategize with those Advisors on how to approach deepening existing UHNW client relationships in their book and how to present full suite of solutions to prospective clients.
- Lead the portfolio construction process for new money opportunities with UHNW clients and prospects.
- Deliver investment expertise that begins with robust client discovery leading to custom asset allocation, multi asset portfolio construction and traditional and alternative investment manager selection.
- Engage advisors to deliver our enterprise-wide solutions that meet their clients’ needs.
- Partner and collaborate with enterprise Specialists to ensure full scope of the client’s wealth needs are met.
- Partner with local Merrill Market Executives to deliver value add content to advisors.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years’ experience in financial services industry
- 5+ years sales experience
- Previous experience in portfolio construction, manager selection (traditional or alts), investment management or in a Wealth Management investment support/sales role supporting Financial Advisors
- Self-motivated, adaptive, positive attitude and high energy are a must.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Enhanced investment credentials desired (CIMA, CAIA, CPWA, CFA, etc..)
- Series 7 and 66 licenses
