Core Development is a global team of technologists who architect, build and maintain our world-class trading platform. From optimizing our core trading engine to building custom hardware, we leverage software & hardware engineering, data science and research, to deliver the infrastructure and tools that drive our trading and business needs.

We are seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer to join our expanding UX team. In this role, you will focus on improving and developing our suite of back-office applications that are vital tools for firm-critical business functions like technology and clearing.  

What You'll Do:

• Understand and analyze complex internal customer requirements and technological challenges to propose elegant UX solutions that are feature-rich yet user-friendly. 
• Learn and document detailed user requirements and identify areas where your work can drive the most business impact. 
• Synthesize and present UX research to stakeholders, pinpointing areas for improvement and delivering on feature roadmaps. 
• Utilize modern design tools, especially Figma, with a high degree of craft and UX focus to provide detailed specifications that cover workflow scenarios and accelerate engineering implementation. 
• Contribute to and utilize an existing design system for a unified look-and-feel across a wide portfolio of applications, driving ongoing improvements to the component library. 
• Propose user experiences that lead to cost-effective and efficient development cycles. 
• Advocate for the adoption of the right mix of platform components with various engineering teams to ensure consistency and ease of use. 
• Embed and work collaboratively with engineering teams to deliver incremental improvements. 
• Other duties as assigned or needed

Skills You’ll Need:

• At least 5+ years of experience with a design tool such as Figma or Sketch
• Basic knowledge of front-end engineering frameworks for web and desktop applications
• Experience defining and understanding user stories
• Deep intuition around how to structure quality user experience flows
• Passionate about making applications beautiful and user-friendly
• Empathetic to the user perspective
• Expertise with working with existing design languages such as Material UI
• Reliable and predictable availability 
• Results-oriented approach

Bonus points: 

• Experience working in positions with data-intensive applications, preferably with fintech platforms (but not required)
• Working knowledge of finance and financial industries is a plus
