About Rocket Learning
Rocket Learning is one of India’s fastest-growing ed-tech non-profits, focused on transforming early childhood education at scale. Working closely with central and state governments, we reach over 5 million children across the country. Our approach combines simple, accessible technology with deep community engagement, empowering caregivers and educators to build strong early learning habits. With a diverse, high-performing team and support from leading funders, we are on a mission to reimagine early learning for every 0–6 year old in India.
Role Overview
The UI Architect designs and leads scalable React-based user interfaces while leveraging AI tools like Cursor for accelerated development workflows. You will use Cursor’s Composer, Agent mode, and codebase intelligence to prototype rapidly, refactor at scale, and enforce architectural standards across enterprise projects.
Key Responsibilities
Architect React applications using AI-assisted tools: Employ Cursor Composer for multi-file component generation, state management setup (Redux/Zustand), and design system implementation.
Lead AI-driven development: Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) loops in Cursor Agent mode—generate Jest tests first, then iterate code until green—ensuring high-quality, performant UIs.
Establish coding standards: Create Cursor .cursorrules files and prompt libraries for React patterns, accessibility, and performance optimization to standardize team output.
Optimize enterprise workflows: Use Cursor’s repo indexing for large-scale refactoring, security reviews, and vulnerability scanning in React/Next.js codebases.
Mentor on AI tooling: Train teams on Cursor features (inline chat, @docs, background agents) to boost React development velocity by 2-3x while maintaining code quality.
Collaborate cross-functionally: Translate Figma designs to React via Cursor’s natural language prompts, integrating with back-end APIs and ensuring Core Web Vitals compliance.
Required Qualifications
React Expertise: 6+ years with Hooks, Concurrent Mode, Server Components; state management (Redux/Context); performance tools
AI Tools Proficiency: 1+ years hands-on Cursor AI or Claude Code or any other prominent AI coding tool: Composer/Tab/Agent for React; custom rules; TDD workflows; enterprise features like security scanning
Modern Stack: TypeScript, TailwindCSS/Shadcn, Vite, React Query, Playwright/Jest—all optimized for Cursor autocomplete and refactoring
Architecture Skills: Design systems, micro-frontends, monorepos (Nx/Turborepo); Lighthouse ≥95 scores via AI-assisted optimization
Enterprise Experience: Leading React teams (10+ devs); AI tool adoption yielding measurable velocity gains; Fortune 500-scale codebase handling
Skills Required
- 6+ years of React experience, including Hooks, Concurrent Mode, Server Components, state management, and performance optimization
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Cursor AI, Claude Code, or another prominent AI coding tool
- Experience using AI coding tools for React development, custom rules, TDD workflows, and enterprise security scanning
- Proficiency with TypeScript, TailwindCSS or Shadcn, Vite, React Query, Playwright, and Jest
- Experience designing systems, micro-frontends, and monorepos using Nx or Turborepo
- Ability to achieve Lighthouse scores of at least 95 through performance optimization
- Experience leading React teams of 10 or more developers
- Experience driving AI tool adoption with measurable development velocity gains
- Experience handling Fortune 500-scale codebases
What We Do
Rocket Learning is an Indian nonprofit ed-tech organization focused on transforming early childhood education and foundational learning at scale. It combines accessible digital learning solutions, localized and play-based content, AI-enabled coaching, social-emotional tools, and community engagement. Working with governments, caregivers, teachers, and daycare educators, it aims to improve school readiness and expand quality learning opportunities for millions of young children.
