Join us as our new Technical Service Staff Scientist, Oils & Fats NA
We are seeking an experienced, talented, and energetic Staff Scientist within Oils and fats processing to join our Industrials Technical Service Team based at our North America Campus in Franklinton, North Carolina. Experience in operating and managing vegetable oil or biodiesel plants would be an advantage as well as related process engineering skills.
You will be part of a team with 12 industry specialists covering Oils and Fats processing (O&F), Starch and Grain processing. Technical Industries and BioAg. Together with Sales and Marketing, you will take part in and drive the implementation of new and established enzyme technologies that are currently transforming the North America vegetable oil industry.
In this role you’ll make an impact by:

Collaborating directly with our customers and realize the implementation of new biotechnologies that both reduces cost and energy with sustainable solutions.

Working alongside TS colleagues and Account Managers, you will play a pivotal role in comprehending customer needs and processes to deliver world class technical service and exchange industry insights. This role offers the chance to enhance your expertise in novel technologies and expand your industry network while making a meaningful impact on the organization and those around you with your valuable insights.
To succeed you must hold:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical engineering, Biotechnology, Food Technology, or related field; plus 4 years of experience in job offered or similar occupation.

Experience within enzyme applications in O&F including edible oils, biodiesel, renewable diesel, HVO, EIE is required.

Ability to translate technical insights and data into customer-relatable values.

Ability to work with a team of Research Associates in designing experiments to support existing and new enzyme applications and knowledge development within the O&F industry.

A strong desire to actively engage with customers and visit plants.

Excellent communication skills to engage with customers and internal stakeholders.

A flair for providing technical training – internally as well as externally.

Fluency in written and spoken English.

Ability to travel extensively within North America (30-50%).
Location: Person can be based in either Franklinton, NC or Milwaukee, WI (hybrid schedule)

Expected salary range: $110,000 - $140,000 base salary
