Summary 

The Treasury Management Sales Manager is responsible for leading and motivating a team of Treasury Management Sales Officers  who are based throughout Academy Bank’s footprint, along with managing a personal book of business primarily in the Kansas City region. Responsible for the overall management of the sales officers and growing Treasury Management fee income by sourcing and selling to new and existing clients. Expertise in ensuring first-class client service is delivered, driving high performance from the team while adhering to risk and compliance procedures and enhancing revenue into the business. Promotes the bank’s products and services in the local community. Provides business clients with fee-based financial solutions that meet their needs. Proactively works with leaders in the business banking and commercial client segments.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Create, implement, and manage unified sales strategies and goals throughout the footprint.
  • Supervise others, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, motivating, and training. Will typically supervise a staff of 2 – 3 associates.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, foster a strong sales culture, and provide consistent coaching and feedback to support associate development and career growth.
  • Manage a personal book of business, primarily in the Kansas City region.
  • Travel to markets as needed to conduct in-person client meetings and team development meetings.
  • Provide consistent pipeline management for Treasury Management Sales Officers including guidance on pricing, proposals, selling techniques and skills.
  • Create and foster exceptional standards and practices for the team including documentation, reporting, and administrative tasks. Review and approve exception pricing.
  • Create and manage a unified sales approach of treasury management products in the market.
  • Review formal presentations and proposals for customers/prospects as needed.
  • Present formal presentation to customer/prospect in a consultative manner when needed.
  • Continually increase knowledge of products as they evolve.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Centers of Influence (COI’s) within the community.
  • Maintain an active and accurate pipeline of treasury management and depository business.
  • Work with Sales Support team and Retail Banking to ensure needs of small business clients are met.
  • Act with sense of urgency to respond to client and partner requests to maximize trusted advisor status.
  • Manage various projects and strategic initiatives assigned.
  • Protect all client and bank information confidentially and follow all company policies.
  • Complete monthly training in a timely manner to ensure knowledge of bank regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Other specified duties as assigned. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of Treasury Management and/or specialty finance sales success.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Independent thinking and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to travel to various locations throughout the assigned geographic territory to call on clients and/or to coach Treasury Sales team.
  • Ability to quickly reprioritize schedule and visit Kansas City based client’s same day if needed.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated core competency in a related field.
  • Five years of Treasury Management sales experience required.
  • CTP certification preferred.

 

Physical Requirements 

The work environment is typical of a standard office or retail banking setting.  The position involves frequent, sustained periods of sitting but also frequent, sustained periods of standing.; however, the position will involve moving about to reach entrances/exits, restrooms, conference rooms, or other areas within the work environment. Reaching may be required involving the ability to move arms in any direction.  Office equipment, such as a computer and telephone, will be used requiring the ability to manipulate a keyboard, mouse, and/or keypad.  The ability to decipher a computer screen or written documents is necessary. The ability to express or exchange ideas; impart information to clients, coworkers, or the public; or to convey detailed or important instructions; is required. The ability to receive and understand detailed information shared through oral or written communication is required. Position requires the ability to transport oneself from one local work site to another local work site via automobile or public transportation on a regular basis.  Exposure to the elements is possible while outdoors. Position requires occasional lifting and/or the exerting of up to 50 pounds of force.
