Job Description:
The DoD seeks a motivated and detail-oriented individual to support travel policy and compliance initiatives. This position involves drafting policy revisions, analyzing compliance programs, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure DoD travel policies align with applicable laws and regulations while meeting organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing draft work products for updates to the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
- Ensure policy revisions are consistent with existing laws, regulations, and DoD objectives, avoiding contradictions or gaps.
- Provide analytical support for the expansion, implementation, and management of the DoD Travel Policy Compliance Program.
- Analyze compliance program data and processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
- Support the collection and incorporation of internal and external stakeholder feedback.
- Assist in publishing documents and materials that address stakeholder concerns and clarify DoD travel policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with government personnel to create materials that enhance understanding of travel policies among stakeholders.
- Respond to questions and concerns by producing clear, accessible, and accurate publications.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree with 24 semester hours in business-related coursework from an accredited college or university.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and policy development processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate policy and compliance program effectiveness.
- Ability to draft and edit technical documents, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing policy gaps or inconsistencies.
