Position Summary:
The ASC Transporter is responsible for the delivery of supplies to and from the main hospital, the delivery of specimens to the lab, bringing medications from the pharmacy, securing instrumentation from the main OR, and assisting nurses with transporting patients. Performs additional duties to facilitate the efficient operation of the ASC.
ResponsibilitiesThe following are essential job accountabilities:
- Demonstrates competency in transporting routine labs, medications *, supplies, and pathology Specimens to the appropriate areas as delegated by the supervising R.N..
- Communicates any changes in supplies, specimens or medications during transport to the supervising registered nurse.
- Demonstrates knowledge regarding safe operation of all equipment used and reports equipment failures in a timely manner.
- Assist with the orientation to new personnel to the position, as assigned.
- Clean and remake gurneys and wheelchairs
- Order, Pick up and restock nutrition supplies on a daily basis.
- Restock OR warmers with dated fluids and blankets
- Picks up, drops off instruments to and from Main OR and ASC
- Completes .edu’s and other required hospital education by the due date.
- Assists with moving patients to and from Operating Room as needed.
- Adheres to SRRMC Behavior Standards.
- Complies with San Ramon Regional Medical Center Policies/Procedures protecting patient information and the confidentiality of the information in accordance with the Federal and State regulations.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education:
- Highschool graduate or equivalent
Minimum Experience/Skills:
- Minimum 6 months experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification (American Heart Association certified)
- Current California Driver License

- Ability to adjust vision sufficiently to perform duties
Working Conditions:
- Regularly exposed to the risk of contagious and bloodborne diseases

Skills Required
