Group Summary:In this role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive planning and operational execution for inbound and outbound material logistics. Your tasks will span strategic planning, daily operations, and cross-functional coordination to ensure efficient and cost-effective transport flows.
Planning and ensuring production supply for all deliveries as well as coordination with external service providers
Operational handling and monitoring of inbound and outbound material transports for all programs
Optimization of operational execution and transport cost efficiency through dashboard evaluations and continuous process improvement
Ensuring on-time transport execution and strategic planning in both inbound and outbound logistics
Verification of invoices from various transport service providers
Issuance of credit notes to transport service providers
Freight cost savings for MS Mesa
Creation of claims and forwarding of costs to transport service providers
Key user for MAGNA Transport Management System
Plan and coordinate material deliveries including special transport requirements
Analyze material data to support transport scheduling, time budget calculations, and corrective actions
Monitor and manage daily transport operations, ensuring alignment with service providers and internal stakeholders
Create and revise operational standards and work instructions to support process consistency and continuous improvement
Act as a key interface between transport service providers, internal departments, and OEM partners
Support the planning and integration of new logistics projects and ensure seamless operational transitions
Assessment of current processes and identification of improvement opportunities
Implementation of dashboard-based performance targets and continuous updates
Coordination with 4PL (Fourth-Party Logistics Provider) on guideline reviews, tool evaluation, and SharePoint data usage
Training and quality control of new logistics service providers (LSPs)
Cost monitoring and data preparation for billing and freight controlling
Monthly invoicing of material services and variance analysis (planned vs. actual costs)
Create and manage EMS tickets to document and track transport-related issues
Conduct daily track & trace activities and provide regular updates through emails, reports, and stakeholder communication
Plan and deploy expedited transports for materials
Participate in regular coordination meetings with LSPs and 4PL (Fourth-Party Logistics Provider) to drive process optimization
Handle operational disruptions and changes (e.g., weather impacts, production fluctuations, process adjustments) through proactive issue resolution
Coordinate and execute daily transport operations in collaboration with logistics service providers (LSPs), 4PL (Fourth-Party Logistics Provider), and internal stakeholders
Ensure alignment of transport planning with Material Control (MC), 4PL (Fourth-Party Logistics Provider), and LSPs
Monitor transport processes to ensure compliance with established procedures and initiate corrective actions when needed
Operational transport execution
Coordination of transport planning with MC and 4PL (Fourth-Party Logistics Provider)
Monitoring compliance with established processes
Ongoing communication and updates via emails and reports
Identification of improvement potential and support in transport-related matters
Daily review of delivery monitoring and data provision
Data cleansing in case of errors in the tracking system, including corrective actions
Content-based and tariff-based verification of freight forwarder invoices
Review of freight charges, delivery terms, and compliance with routing orders
Business unit-specific allocation of incurred freight costs
Cause-based assignment of freight costs (e.g. to business units, projects, etc.)
Coordination with freight forwarders and training on Magna-compliant invoicing
Content-based and tariff-based verification of freight forwarder invoices
Review of tours using the SAP delivery confirmations
Manual status updates
Post-processing of loading and unloading points, including offer-based verification
Handling of transport service provider claims
Issuance of credit notes
Coordination with freight forwarders and training on Magna-compliant processing
Condition Management (Entering and updating quotations)
Internal forwarding to the responsible case handler and external forwarding to MAGNA 4PL (Fourth-Party Logistics Provider), or the relevant logistics service provider
Documenting master data changes internally and forwarding them to 4PL (Fourth-Party Logistics Provider) for implementation
Creating system/process bug/ support tickets
First level support contact person for TMS users
Training service providers during system or process changes
Your preferred qualifications
• Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry of 3-5 years.
• Strong expertise in transport, logistics, and procurement processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and SAP
• Freight forwarding or transport service experience
