Sharpsmart Transport Team is at the very centre of our business providing an essential service to our Healthcare Customers. We are now expanding our team in Rainham, Essex and have an opportunity for an experienced Transport Coordinator to join this growing team. 
 
In the role of Transport Coordinator your focus will be the collection route schedule and this will include vehicle and driver utilisation to ensure all SLA's are achieved within a compliant framework. The Transport Service Coordinator will communicate with drivers and other key internal departments. alongside planning, implementing and controlling existing and new collection routes.
 
This role is working nightshift Sunday - Thursday - 45 hour working week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Transport Compliance
  • Arranging hire vehicles for VOR and services
  • Route scheduling, analysing and planning of transport
  • Organising disposal slots with pre-agreed contracted suppliers
  • Arrange transport for disposal slots
  • Analyse and coordinate solution of any issues/delays between driver and disposal outlet
  • Health and safety compliance
  • Deal with any paperwork issues with disposal outlets
  • Ensure drivers comply with driver hours and WTD's and other transport compliance and business processes
  • Liaising with drivers and internal departments

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role with strong understanding of Transport Compliance
  • Experience of vehicle routing
  • Excellent geographical knowledge for Southern/London region
  • Experience of building relations and working with drivers on a daily basis
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft packages with Intermediate Excel skills
  • Full UK Driving License

Skills Required

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar transport coordinator role

  • Experience with vehicle routing and route scheduling
  • Excellent geographical knowledge of Southern/London region
  • Experience building relationships and working with drivers daily
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office and intermediate Excel
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work nightshift (Sunday-Thursday) and 45-hour workweek
