Job Summary
Responsible for the precise winding, assembly, repair, and testing of transformer coils and components used in electrical equipment. Ensures all work meets engineering specifications, quality standards, and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Transformer Winding, Assembly & Repair- Burn out, disassemble, and accurately record winding data and tap information for rewinds and repairs
- Review engineering-provided winding data and collaborate on design enhancements
- Determine required materials, including wire, insulation, and components
- Wind transformer coils in strict adherence to engineering specifications, drawings, and work orders
- Set up, operate, adjust, and maintain coil winding machines and related equipment
- Assemble transformer cores, frames, and components to production standards
- Implement proper insulation techniques and ensure overall coil quality
- Inspect windings for accuracy, alignment, and electrical integrity
- Label, test, dip, and re-test completed transformers and coils
- Use measuring tools and testing equipment to verify compliance with specifications
- Identify, document, and report defects, inconsistencies, or material issues
- Ensure a clean, high-quality finished product
- Perform rewinding, repair, and rework of damaged or defective coils
- Troubleshoot winding issues and make necessary adjustments
- Troubleshoot and repair winding equipment as needed
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and document maintenance activity
- Maintain accurate production and winding data records using the company systems
- Utilize internal data systems and consult EASA databases as needed
- Track work orders and ensure accurate job documentation
- Communicate progress, material needs, and scheduling concerns to management and the sales team
- Meet daily and weekly production targets
- Prepare finished parts for shipment
- Follow all safety procedures, shop protocols, and PPE requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Properly handle and store tools, equipment, and materials
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and guidelines
Requirements
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical or trade school training in electrical, mechanical, or industrial technology preferred
- Certification or coursework in electrical windings, motor repair, or transformer manufacturing is a plus
- 1–3 years of experience in transformer, coil, or motor winding or related electromechanical manufacturing preferred
- Experience with copper/aluminum conductors, insulation materials, and winding equipment
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and winding diagrams
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required
