Job Summary
Are you passionate about helping others grow and succeed? As a Training Specialist at Saputo, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future and culture of our team. This role will be designing and delivering training programs that empower our employees, from their first day and beyond. Your creativity and enthusiasm will ensure that our onboarding process and mandatory trainings are not just informative, but also engaging. This role supports our 24/7 operation, ensuring that training is accessible and effective for all shifts.
How You Will Make Contributions That Matter
- Organize and conduct mandatory training sessions, presenting topics like compliance, safety, and professional development that keeps staff engaged and is impactful.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive onboarding programs that make new employees feel at home from day one. Develop written training instructions to meet company and production standards.
- Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and consultations with managers to tailor programs that truly make a difference.
- Design and update training materials, manuals, and documentation that are both informative, engaging and meets the production standards.
- Maintain training records and ensure all employees complete required training to include System Application and Products (SAP), On the Job Training (OTJ), classroom, webinar, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) instruction, etc..
- Drive continuous improvements to ensure applicable employees stay current on processes, procedures, standards, policies, and training for assigned job.
- Ensure all training software and training material through Alchemy and training related software is current and available for training when needed.
- Work closely with department heads to identify specific training needs and develop customized programs. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in training and development.
- Develops and maintains organizational communications such as bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
- Keep up with industry trends and best practices in training and development to bring fresh ideas to the table.
- Schedules the appropriate classroom and prepares the physical setup, including any audiovisual equipment.
- Provide constructive & timely feedback directly to trainees & trainers.
- Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
- Develops and maintains organizational communications such as bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
- Maintain accurate training records and regularly create and distribute reports to departments, plant and management.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures, as well as operational training /certification programs are administered in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Facilitate meetings with employees, supervisors, management, and Human Resources to review training resources and processes.
- Provide input to the annual Learning and Development plan for the plant, including budgeting of labor hours and monitoring the learning and development budget for assigned areas.
- Participate in employee relations activities and other company committees.
- Comply with the Code of Ethics and actively apply the Saputo Values.
- All other duties as assigned.
You Are Best Suited For The Role If You Have The Following Experiences, Skills, and Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- BS or BA in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business, Education or related degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in an Operations role; experience in the food production industry preferably in one that is a continuous, twenty-four (24) hour operation, but not required.
- Previous learning and development experience preferred.
- Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Ability to develop positive working relationships at all levels.
- Dependable, self-motivated and team oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Strong persuasive leadership skills.
- Detail-orientated, organized, with good time management skills.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines in a multi-task, fast paced environment.
- Ability to work in multiple areas as required.
- Ability to work all shifts as needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Alchemy experience a plus.

Salary range: $50,675 - $66,515
salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and qualifications.
