Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a talented Trading & Operations Associate to join a Market Making team focusing on futures, ETFs and stocks in a fully automated, low latency environment.
Responsibilities
- Review previous day trading activity reports: analyse issues, document results and improve reports when necessary
- Develop new ad-hoc reports and controls using Python, Shell and Mysql language in linux environment
- Manage trading inventory from ETF Market making desk using in-house trading tool
- Automate daily controls and streamline existing processes
- Identify operational risks and design new controls as needed
- Coordinate and follow-up on Trading platform production changes
- Participate in performance monitoring and optimization efforts
- Follow-up Production incident and outages with internal Tower teams
- Working with traders on active trading desk, reporting to COO
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent STEM degree
- 0-5 years experience in a related field
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Working knowledge of Linux and familiarity with SQL
- Exceptional analytical abilities, strong communications skills, and experience making data-driven strategic decisions
- Strong working knowledge of PNL and Risk reporting applications
- Familiarity with current market structure and regulatory developments
- Ability to comprehend and diagnose problems in complex real-time systems with minimal guidance
- Capacity to work equally well independently and as a member of a team
- Strong understanding of trading technology and fluency in technical concepts
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving abilities
Anticipated New York annual base salary range $100,000-180,000, plus eligible for discretionary bonus
