About the Role

  • Maintain molding equipment capacity database and complete studies as required.
  • Good working knowledge of project information and project interdependencies in order to make informed decisions.
  • Actively pursue opportunities and reduce cost & cycle times as per AAI yearly targets.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Divisional General Manager and Assistant General Manage
  • Strong and varied interpersonal skills.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the Manufacturing Team in developing robust baselines for all new tools until the tooling has been approved and verified that it can produce parts at cycle and established targets for OEE. Maintain a tracking document for each tool on status of Launch readiness.
  • Coordinating Program Tooling Launch Reviews with cross functional team with defined expectations and status of open issues.
  • Maintaining LRR board open issues report for injection tooling and attending report outs.
  • Participate in make / buy equipment decisions in molding area.
  • Lead for all new Program Capital Expenditures in Molding to include equipment and infrastructure. Includes the specification, procurement, installation and launch support until production ready.
  • Support new launch activity through troubleshooting equipment, working with in-house and external teams to resolve equipment related issues.
  • Provide input for tooling that sourced tooling meets established standards to include Tooling Preventive Maintenance Requirements.


Who we are looking for
Job Requirements:Education and/or Experience: Minimum of 10 - 12 years Manufacturing experience required in the Automotive and/or Automotive Supply Base sector focusing on Tooling for Injection Tools and Molding Process.

  • Secondary School diploma plus;
  • 3 year Technologist diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or
  • University degree in Engineering, or
  • Equivalent Work Experience
  • 2 years minimum experience in an Automotive Manufacturing Environment would be an asset.


Your preferred qualifications

  • Able to drive accountability through structured requirements, expectations and timelines.
  • Demonstrates focus on meeting program commitments and enforcement of work plans where timing is not achieved.
  • Understanding of Quote Capital Process and ROI.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Program Delivery Process (Gate Milestones) and associated expectations.
  • Highly motivated, self- directed, creative, innovative and people oriented person.
  • Able to multi-task on several fronts to meet Business Plan objectives.
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft office; including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
