Job SummaryPerforms preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical) | Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield | Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance) | Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems | Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures Impact of the RoleGeneral Profile

• Performs manual tasks according to established procedures • Requires working knowledge and skills developed through formal training or work experience• Identifies the problems and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures, and makes sound decisions• Works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision

Essential Functions
  • Monitors processes for storing, organizing and tracking materials such as hand tools, parts and other equipment.  
  • Requisitions replenishments to maintain required minimum quantities of materials
  • Keeps an inventory by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. 
  • Orders new tools and equipment or may repair tools as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Required education and experience: High School Diploma/GED and 3-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred education and experience: Associate degree
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Calibration. Customer Service. Inventory Control. Reading Blueprints/Diagrams. Safety Inspections. Maintenance Inspection. Ticketing/Tracking. Spare Parts Management. Inventory Control Software.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

Skills Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Associate degree
  • Knowledge of calibration, customer service, inventory control, blueprint and diagram reading, safety inspections, maintenance inspection, ticketing and tracking, spare parts management, and inventory control software
