Our Expectations – 2 Candidates with below skills
As a Tool Applicator, you will be responsible for Tooling for all P&WC engine programs mostly involving components (turbines, compressors, combustors.). You will have the opportunity to work with a team of approximately 60 method agents, NC programmers, special process specialists and CMM inspection specialists. Candidate should be willing to work 100% at site at location – P&WC office, 1000 Bd Marie-Victorin, Longueuil, QC J4G 1A1.
What will your daily life be like?
You will be a member of a team whose responsibility is to make the dream of engineering a reality in the plant. In fact, the team starts with the design received from engineering, then defines the manufacturing methods and selects the machines that will be used in the plant. Thus, your daily tasks will be :
- Troubleshoot tooling performance and support production teams in resolving machining issues.
- Recommend and implement alternative tooling solutions to maintain production continuity.
- Provide technical guidance to operators, planners, and manufacturing support teams.
- Review tooling deviations and support disposition of nonconformities.
- Perform drawing markups and technical corrections to address tooling-related conditions.
- Support new part introduction by collaborating with planning and manufacturing engineering teams.
- Define tooling usage values, salvage dimensions, and expected tool life.
- Contribute to cutting parameter development and machinability optimization.
- Initiate procurement requests for new tooling packages, including tool holders and cutting tools, for new machine setups.
Required Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience
- An academic background in mechanical engineering or aerospace manufacturing at the college or university level is required (or equivalent experience).
- Candidate should be either Canadian citizen or a Permanent resident.
- Language proficiency in both French & English
Desired Skills:
- Experience in NC Programming, Manufacturing and Tooling
- Basic Knowledge of Catia V5.

Role
Responsible for supporting Tools by troubleshooting tooling issues and implementing effective tooling solutions to maintain production continuity. Collaborates with production, planning, and manufacturing engineering teams to optimize tooling performance, tool life, and machining parameters. Provides technical guidance to shop-floor personnel, supports nonconformance resolution, and performs tooling-related drawing updates. Leads tooling selection and procurement activities for new part introductions and machine setups while driving continuous improvement in machining efficiency and quality.
Skills Required
- 3–5 years of relevant experience
- College or university education in mechanical engineering or aerospace manufacturing, or equivalent experience
- Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status
- Proficiency in French and English
- Experience in NC programming, manufacturing, and tooling
- Basic knowledge of CATIA V5
