Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive team member to join our team as a Third Party Governance Associate. This role will directly support the Third Party Governance Vice President in the execution and enhancement of the Consumer and Community Banking Third-Party Governance Program. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in risk management, reporting, and process improvement, and will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
As a Third Party Governance Associate within our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Third Party Governance Vice President to enhance the Consumer and Community Banking Third-Party Governance Program. You will leverage your expertise in risk management, reporting, and process improvement to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the design and execution of supplier lifecycle activities, ensuring alignment with the Third-Party Oversight Standard to mitigate supplier risks. You will review and interpret third-party risk policies, develop guidance materials, and document governance structures and escalation paths. Collaborating with stakeholders, you will define key performance and risk indicators, establish data protocols, and create reports to track supplier remediation progress. Additionally, you will support framework enhancements, assess training needs, and assist in developing training materials. Engaging in stakeholder briefings and workshops, you will prepare presentations and updates for executive and cross-functional audiences. You will also monitor policy adherence, maintain audit trails, and work collaboratively to optimize the program and minimize supplier risks.
Job responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design and execution of supplier lifecycle activities in alignment with the Third-Party Oversight Standard, including additional requirements to ensure supplier risk mitigation.
  • Review and interpret relevant third-party risk policies, procedures, and standards; assist in developing guidance materials and job aids for stakeholders.
  • Map out governance structure and escalation paths; document roles and responsibilities for governance and escalation, communicate escalation procedures, and support incident management.
  • Collaborate with governance stakeholders to define key performance and risk indicators (e.g., Financial Viability, Supplier Risk Index, Control Effectiveness, Containment, Cyber Incidents); establish data collection protocols, validate data quality, and develop comprehensive reports tracking supplier remediation progress, status, and actions.
  • Support the development and implementation of framework enhancements; document and track quality improvement actions.
  • Assess training needs and gaps for Delivery Managers and other stakeholders; assist in developing and updating training materials and job aids, schedule and support delivery of training sessions, and collect feedback to refine training content.
  • Support stakeholder briefings, workshops, and ongoing advisory activities; prepare presentations and actively engage in verbal and written updates to drive alignment and action toward project objectives, tailoring messaging appropriately for executive and cross-functional audiences.
  • Monitor adherence to policies and escalate non-compliance issues; maintain audit trails for remediation activities and status updates, supporting audit readiness and compliance reviews.
  • Work collaboratively across functions and with senior stakeholders to optimize the program and minimize supplier risks.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to structure and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective communicator, able to tailor messaging for executive and cross-functional audiences.
  • Proactive team player with a growth mindset and intellectual curiosity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions and with senior stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Experience in legal, regulatory, or operational risk management.
  • Familiarity with third-party risk management frameworks and reporting.
  • Experience supporting governance, policy, or training initiatives.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
