Thermal Analyst III/IV
Honeybee Robotics is seeking a Thermal Analyst to perform thermal analyses for space electro-mechanical systems. You'll use your experience and skills to support design teams from concept development through product implementation. You'll be responsible for performing thermal analysis on a wide variety of designs and materials, interpreting analytical results to support testing and design optimization, and producing engineering documentation, reports, and technical data.
Responsibilities:
- Manage external consultants
- Perform thermal analysis on a wide variety of designs and materials - including composites and metals
- Manipulate large-scale thermal models to support internal thermal solution development
- Interpret analytical results to support electro-mechanical system testing and design optimization
- Produce engineering documentation and reports, manipulating technical data from hardware testing
- Work closely with engineers, manufacturing, and technical management to communicate design issues and develop solutions
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline with 6+ years of experience performing thermal analysis or A Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience
- Demonstrate proven experience performing thermal analysis within the space industry, including familiarity with environmental acceptance/qualification testing criteria
- Possess proficiency with tools such as Thermal Desktop, SINDA FLUINT, and ANSYS Workbenches
- Exhibit expert understanding of heat transfer, flow, and thermodynamic principles
- Demonstrate proficiency with spacecraft thermal control
- Ability to write and present technical reports to multi-disciplined teams
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electro-mechanical systems
- Experience with composite materials
- Experience with cryogenic environment
- Capability to work effectively as a team player or independently
