Your Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test System Strategy Engineer with expertise in sourcing and development of test technologies and test systems for embedded electronics. As a pivotal member of our expert team of hardware and software developers, test and system engineers, you will take on the crucial responsibility of deciding whether to BUY or MAKE test technologies on a case-by-case basis. Your decisions will have a direct impact on the success of our smart battery sensors and battery management system projects through the evaluation, selection, and design of appropriate test systems.

Your Responsibilities

Analyze product requirements, project timelines, budget constraints, and technical specifications to make informed BUY or MAKE decisions. Present detailed recommendations to stakeholders, supported by thorough analysis and justifications.
  • Test System Design and Evaluation: Architect and design, robust test equipment and complete systems for embedded electronics to validate functionality and performance on hardware, software and system level when a MAKE decision is made. Assess and compare commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) test systems to determine their suitability for specific projects when a BUY decision is considered. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and translate them into effective test strategies.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with system, hardware and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of test systems into the development workflow. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing regular updates on test system development progress and strategic decisions.
  • Stay Current with Industry Trends: Stay in touch with advancements in embedded systems, test technologies, and automation tools to drive continuous improvement. Monitor and assess emerging technologies to make informed strategic BUY or MAKE decisions.

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed university degree in an engineering field (software, electronics, mechanical), math or applied physics.
  • Proven experience in developing and / or sourcing  test systems for embedded electronics.
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and design principles.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate technical and financial aspects of BUY or MAKE decisions.
  • Ability to stay current with industry trends and advancements in testing methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, ideally incl. project management experience.
