We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Lead with expertise in mobile test automation for both iOS and Android platforms. In this role, you will lead a team of QA Automation engineers, overseeing the planning, development, and execution of test automation frameworks to ensure quality across mobile applications. This position requires both deep technical expertise in test automation and strong management skills.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and continued dedication to personal and process improvement.
Required skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience leading a team of quality engineers to drive high standards in software quality, including hands-on involvement in testing, automation, and quality assurance processes.
- Proven experience in mobile test automation for both iOS and Android platforms, utilising tools such as Appium, Espresso (Android), and XCTest (iOS).
- Proficiency in scripting automated test cases and integrating them within CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and languages commonly used in mobile automation, such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, or JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of mobile app performance and security testing methodologies, along with the ability to generate reliable and detailed test reports.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide team members, manage performance, and foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Strong skills in test strategy development and implementation of quality metrics to monitor and improve testing effectiveness.
- Experience in defining test automation frameworks and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and upper management.
- Experience of writing BDD Test suites with Gherkin, Cucumber
- Strong experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks
Key responsibilities & duties include:
- Lead a team of quality engineers to ensure high standards in software quality, including direct involvement in testing, automation, and overall quality assurance processes.
- Oversee and manage mobile test automation efforts for both iOS and Android platforms, utilizing tools such as Appium, Espresso (Android), and XCTest (iOS).
- Develop and script automated test cases and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI to support continuous testing and delivery.
- Define and implement test automation frameworks and ensure their integration within CI/CD environments to streamline and enhance test execution.
- Guide the team in creating test strategies and quality metrics to monitor testing effectiveness and make data-driven improvements.
- Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative, productive environment and managing performance to align with project goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and upper management, communicating effectively to ensure alignment on quality standards and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain BDD test suites using Gherkin and Cucumber to support behavior-driven development and improve test readability.
- Continuously refine testing frameworks and expand the team's proficiency in mobile automation languages and tools such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, or JavaScript.
- Conduct performance and security testing for mobile applications, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and reliability of test reports for critical stakeholders.
