This is an exciting time to join Honeywell Aerospace and the Control Systems (CS) business. This is a great position to develop and showcase your growing leadership abilities in a highly visible and impactful role within the CS Engineering Team.

The Control Systems Test Engineering Manager applies proven technical and program competency in delivering test facility design, operation and execution solutions to the Tempe CS product lines.   The Test Engineering Manager works closely with senior leadership and maintains a strong network of customers, peers and internal technical executives associated with product design tools and processes. The Test Engineering Manager technically understands and evaluates engineering features and technologies within the CS Test portfolio and understands the design criteria and trades associated with developing a new facility. The Test Engineering Manager also leads a variety of technology capability growth initiatives to keep the organization at the cutting edge of Aerospace technical capability.

This role is also responsible for enabling engineering productivity through deployment of a wide variety of cost, organizational and skillset strategies and timely implementation of improvement initiatives.  The leader also sets standards for performance relative to cycle time, schedule, budget and milestones performance and drives transformational improvements.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Test Engineering Manager is responsible for:

  • Test Design and Analysis tool benchmarking, development & sustainment\enhancement
  • Cost and cycle time reduction through improved Facility design and control standardization and automation
  • Being a focal for Tempe CS Capital identification, prioritization/waterlining and execution
  • Being an inspirational leader with a strong hiring / retention / training focus
  • Understand current and needed skills within the team and develop strategies to leverage global resources to maximize capability
  • Partner with the product COEs to drive design for automation principles into the organization
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively persuade internal and external parties to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.

Key Success Factors:

  • Must focus strongly on identifying and developing skills, tools, processes and technologies that will enable Honeywell Aerospace to develop products and systems with lower development and recurring costs.
  • Drive Velocity and Agile principles to maximize product re-use, reduce production cost and minimize cycle times.
  • Develop measurable goals and objectives and drive accountability throughout the organization
  • Meet Program objectives on all development programs for EAC stability, Milestone performance and design quality
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • 2 plus years of experience in Engineering Leadership roles or more than 4 years experience in leading engineering projects in an Aerospace Industry
  • Prior experience in leading cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Strong technical expertise in the relevant engineering discipline
  • Proven track record of successful project execution and delivery
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
