Title: Test Engineer

Position Type: Full-Time/Exempt

Pay Range:$70,000-$110,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data)

About this role: The Test Engineer will contribute to the Test process for spacecraft assemblies at the subsystem and system levels. Test types include thermal, TVAC, Vibration, and general pre/post environmental test processes. The Test Engineer will have hands-on experience with PCBA testing, ground support equipment (GSE) selection and design, systems level scripting and testing to support test operations on the production floor. The Test Engineer will write, write jointly, and review test plans and procedures for Tendeg antennas.

We are looking for a Test Engineer that will support the following programs:

  • INCUS: NASA has selected Tendeg to deliver four Ka-band deployable antennas for a new Earth science mission called Investigation of Convective Updrafts (INCUS) that will study the behavior of tropical storms and thunderstorms, including their impacts on weather and climate models. https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/nasa-selects-new-mission- to-study-storms-impacts-on-climate-models
  • 2-axis Gimbal Antennas: Tendeg has multiple contracts to develop, fabricate, test and deliver flight units for deployable high gain antennas from X-band to Q/V-band. These are for sensor and communication missions for LEO, MEO and lunar applications.
  • Perimeter Truss Reflectors: Tendeg has multiple contracts to deliver large aperture antennas for GEO communications, SAR, and national security

What you'll do:

  • Develop, write, review, and implement test procedures and standard operating procedures
  • Participate in non-conformance investigations
  • Perform troubleshooting to determine failure and resolutions on non-conforming hardware
  • Work with Systems Engineering to develop test requirements and documentation of flight hardware tests for implementation on the production floor
  • Support engineering in the handling and operation of flight hardware under test
  • Assist with GSE selection and development
  • Identify and complete tasks with evolving requirements and minimal direction.
  • Assist with the development, design, and implementation of hardware and software tools for the production line environment
  • Ensure test procedures capture all required data for each phase of the test campaign and review the results prior to the next test in the sequence
  • Write test procedures used in environmental testing
  • Red line Tendeg procedures as required
  • Must have a strong attention to detail

Key Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or other related STEM field.
  • 2+ years environmental testing experience (i.e. Vibration, Thermal Vacuum, EMI), highly preferred
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving and communication abilities
  • Ability to read and work to engineering documentation
  • Ability to independently operate oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data acquisition monitoring devices
  • Technical writing skills required
