What You’ll Do:

Reporting to the Manager of Product Development, this position is responsible for supporting the validation for new product for AKG of America’s market needs.

  •  Component selection (heat exchangers, pumps, fans, compressors, controls, etc)
  •  Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Assembly (DFA)
  •  Commitment to AKG’s Corporate Principles 
  •  Support market research led by Marketing and Product Development Manager and identify opportunities for product improvement within AKG’s catalogue
  • Support the creation of new tests and methods for validation and verification of product characteristics and requirements
  • Execute verification and validation testing at the request of other departments 
  • Write technical report to summarize testing and validation efforts
  • Provide engineering support to Testing and Validation department
  • Build and test Battery Thermal Management Systems (BTMS) prototypes 

What we're Looking For:

Requirements

   

  •  BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  •  Strong thermodynamics background
  •  Strong structural knowledge
  •  Able to engineer creative and sound technical solutions
  • Technical writing and English capabilities
  • Strong Excel and Matlab data management skills
  • Wiring and instrumentation experience (preferred)
  • Data acquisition experience (preferred)
  • Machine shop/fabrication experience (preferred)
  • TIG welding capability (preferred)
  • CAN Architecture familiarity (preferred) 
  • Experience with high voltage (desired)
  • Experience with Battery Thermal Management Systems (desired)
