SMX is looking for a highly motivated Test Engineer (Junior to Mid-level) with demonstrated experience to perform test development and planning for the mission computer software for the H1 program.
In this role, you will join a team of highly driven, supportive, and skilled professionals engaged in supporting critical programs across the NAVAIR community.
This is an onsite role providing support for our client at Patuxent River NAS, MD.
The Test Engineer will:
- Execution of test plans and procedures for the mission computer SW for the H1 program
- Testing may involve interaction with tactical computers and system computer, objectives, and necessary points of emphasis related to proposed enhancements and new capabilities
- Support System Engineering Technical Reviews to evaluate work products to Government standards
- Support program reviews and periodic program status meetings
- May provide support to the development of software test plans
Required Skills and Experience:
- Clearance Required: Secret
- BS or BA degree in Technical Discipline from an accredited university
- 2 to 5 years of experience in the engineering field; preferably testing DoD aircraft systems, DoD weapons systems, DoD mission systems or DoD support systems
- Demonstrated ability to test software
- The successful candidate should possess strong communication, (written/oral), and presentation skills as well as strong critical thinking and reasoning skills
- Ability to evaluate new or revised software that controls/responds to current hardware; evaluate proposed software that will control new hardware
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with the H1 Mission Computer SW
- Knowledge of how sensors are used on their resident platforms
- Ability to analyze solutions, estimate problem impact on mission functions and provide an evaluation on the resulting solution

The proposed salary for this position is:
$61,800—$142,400 USD
