Test Automation Engineer (6 month contract)

540 is seeking a motivated Test Automation Engineer for a 6 month contract role on our USCIS project. The project provides user-centered design, development, security and operations services, and data science in support of USCIS Information Technology Biometrics and Scheduling Systems Delivery. As a test engineer, you will be supporting your business line by working closely with the software development team to ensure code quality and optimal user experience while maintaining system stability through functional testing.  Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining automated tests to quickly identify regressions and troubleshoot issues. 

Location: Remote within the continental United States, East Coast working hours
Citizenship & Clearance Requirement: per client requirements, must be a US Citizen with an active DHS Public Trust clearance
Contract Duration: 6 months, 40 hours per week

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 6+ years of testing experience
• 2+ year of Javascript experience
• 2+ years of Java experience
• 2+ years of testing automation experience, Cypress experience strongly preferred
• Experience using GitHub or similar platform
• Experience testing REST APIs using Insomnia or similar tool
• Experience testing large-scale applications
• Ability to define, create, and execute end-to-end tests
• #GetShitDone mentality

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Accessibility testing experience using Deque Axe or other tools
• Section 508 compliance experience/DHS Trusted Tester credential a bonus
• Ability to write basic SQL queries
• Experience developing integration tests using Rest Assured
• Experience writing performance or load tests using JMeter
