Telehealth Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) - Part-Time
MindCare Solutions is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have recent experience (within the past 24 months) providing psychiatric care to a broad range of patients in a general hospital setting, including evaluating and treating patients in both the emergency department and inpatient behavioral health units.
Compensation: negotiable
Hours: P/T - 10-12 hours per week
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnose and treat mental health disorders, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care.
- The PMHNP will play a key role in supporting clinical coverage and ensuring continuity of care across hospital-based settings.
- The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary
- Conduct daily rounds, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication with the healthcare team.
- Respond promptly to consult requests from the Emergency Department and Inpatient units, offering expert psychiatric assessments and recommendations
- Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects
- Implement therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of psychiatric conditions
- The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Offers education and support to residents and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options
- Promote mental health awareness and wellness among residents
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Ensure timely and thorough documentation of all assessments and interventions
- The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance mental health care services within the facility
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health
- Current and unrestricted PMHNP license in TX
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Minimum of 1 year's clinical experience as a PMHNP, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Active and unrestricted DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners will maintain clinical competency & collaboration with Psychiatrist (we will provide)
Skills Required
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health
- Current and unrestricted PMHNP license in TX
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience as a PMHNP, preferably in hospital or acute care setting
- Recent experience (within past 24 months) providing psychiatric care in general hospital settings including ED and inpatient behavioral health units
- Active and unrestricted DEA registration
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Maintain clinical competency and collaborate with supervising psychiatrist (provided by employer)
