What The Role Entails
 

Based in Ashburn, Virginia, the Telecom Infrastructure Project Manager at CloudHQ plans and coordinates the delivery of inside-plant and outside-plant telecom infrastructure. This role aligns rollout schedules, vendors, permits, engineering, construction, utilities, site teams, and business stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, documented, and operationally ready installations. 

What You Will Get to Do

• Develop and maintain integrated project plans covering design, permitting, procurement, construction, testing, turnover, and closeout.
• Coordinate telecom carriers, fiber contractors, engineering consultants, utility providers, permitting authorities, site operations, security, safety, and other cross-functional teams.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, dependencies, change control, and project documentation.
• Confirm that route designs, construction drawings, bills of material, method statements, permits, and access requirements are ready before field execution.
• Lead regular project reviews, communicate status and decisions, escalate constraints, and track corrective actions through closure.
• Oversee vendor performance, validate progress, review deliverables, support invoice verification, and manage punch-list completion.
• Coordinate outages, maintenance windows, access, logistics, and stakeholder notifications for work affecting live environments.
• Ensure complete turnover packages, including as-built drawings, test results, splice records, permits, warranties, asset records, and acceptance documentation.
• Promote compliance with applicable safety, quality

Success Measures 

• Projects meet approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and documentation expectations.
• Risks and dependencies are identified early, assigned, communicated, and closed.
• Stakeholders receive timely, accurate status reporting and clear decision requests.
• Turnover packages are complete, accurate, and accepted by operations. 

Requirements

What you Bring to the Role

• 5+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, telecommunications, project management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience delivering telecom, fiber-optic, utility, data center, or critical-infrastructure projects.
• Experience coordinating vendors, permits, construction activities, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of project controls, risk management, change management, and document control.
• Ability to interpret telecom drawings, route plans, schedules, scopes of work, and technical submittals.
• Strong written, verbal, facilitation, negotiation, and executive-status reporting skills.

 Our Ideal Candidate Will Also Possess

• PMP, PRINCE2, or comparable Project Management certification.
• Experience with both inside-plant and outside-plant fiber infrastructure across multiple sites or regions.
• Familiarity with GIS, CAD, project management platforms, construction management systems, and fiber asset databases.
• Experience supporting mission-critical facilities or active production environments.
