JOB SUMMARY:
Under supervision of Program Director and, if applicable, under general direction of Coordinator of Program Services, plans, organizes, promotes, implements, and evaluates programs for club teens.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Prepare youth for success
 Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
 Promotes and stimulates daily teen programs participation as well as participation in designated national and special events programs. Programming should be appropriate, in correlation with our organizational values, and yield active engagement from members and staff involved.
 Orients new members to teen programs, special events, and opportunities as well as to club safety, program and disciplinary rules.
 Provides guidance and role modeling to members, which includes adherence to dress code.
Program
 Implements, monitors and evaluates programs, services and activities for members.
 Monitors and evaluates programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members and quality in programs.
 Recognizes club members for program participation and achievement.
 Maintains records to track attendance and participation.
 Evaluates programs and maintains records to track program attendance and participation.
Supervision
 Maintains order and discipline of club members to include adherence to dress code and other rules and expectations.
 Supervises and trains volunteers and program assistants.
 Ensures a productive work environment by participating in weekly club staff meetings.
Supplies
 Monitors supply needs and orders required supplies through approved vendors and within budget.
 Keeps supply room neat and orderly.
Facility
 Insures program area is attractive, neat and clean daily and bulletin boards and notices are current (changed quarterly).
 Makes and/or recommends needed repairs to facility and/or equipment.
Other Responsibilities
 Participates in training/educational opportunities to expand knowledge and skills. Attend and complete BGCA leadership university courses.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Education
 High School diploma or GED.
Experience
 Combined experience and/or formal training equivalent to a minimum of three years where:
o Experience in working with teens and knowledge of youth development.
o Formal training, knowledge and/or experience in programming for teen interest and participation.
Skills
 Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
 Ability to deal with the general public.
 Ability to plan and implement quality learning programs for youth.
 Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
 Valid State Driver’s License.

ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Daily contact with club staff, club members, outside organizations and individuals to plan, coordinate and deliver programs. The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25lbs. Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion. Travel to special events and field trips required. Must be able to work daily afternoon/evening hours. Occasional weekend work required to accomplish objectives.


Skills Required

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of three years of experience working with teens
  • Experience in programming for teen interest and participation
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
  • Valid State Driver's License
