Position Summary:
Ariel Investments is seeking a skilled and proactive Technology Support Specialist to join our Chicago office, reporting to the Technology Support Manager. This role is essential not only in delivering best-in-class technical support but also in contributing to high-impact technology initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of support issues from initiation to resolution, while also playing an active role in critical project work, including system upgrades, platform integrations, and enterprise-wide deployments. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and help shape the end-user experience for all Ariel team members.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional deskside and remote support to team members in our Chicago and New York offices
- Must be available to work onsite in the Chicago office five days a week
- Proactively follow up on IT service requests and problem tickets, ensuring timely and complete resolution
- Provide installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting for hardware, software, A/V systems, networks, printers, and peripherals
- Manage the transition and support of Windows 11 across the enterprise, ensuring a smooth transition and optimal performance
- Facilitate the adoption of Microsoft Copilot throughout the Office 365 suite, empowering users to improve productivity with AI-driven features
- Document incidents and resolutions in alignment with ITIL standards
- Provide technical training and guidance to end users as needed
- Must be available to work onsite in the Chicago office five days a week
- Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM CT
- Occasional after-hours work may be required; any such time will be recouped in accordance with company policy
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on technical support experience in a corporate environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in the financial services industry is required.
- Proven ability to support high-profile users, including traders, portfolio managers, and executives.
- Familiarity with front-office technologies such as Order Management Systems, market data platforms, and public cloud solutions is a plus.
- Strong experience supporting Windows 11 and managing enterprise device fleets.
- Excellent communication skills, a self-starter attitude, and a collaborative mindset.
- Recognized as a strong culture carrier and advocate for continuous improvement.
- Technical proficiency in the following areas:
- Microsoft Intune: Application packaging, deployment, and policy management.
- Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD: User and device identity management and access control.
- Microsoft SharePoint: Administration and support for collaboration and document management.
- JAMF: MacOS device management, deployment, and policy enforcement.
- Microsoft Teams Rooms: Setup, configuration, and support for meeting room technology.
- Microsoft Office 365 Suite: Administration and end-user support across Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
