Summary
As a Solutions Consultant within Vanguard's International Product Engineering organization, you will help shape technology solutions that support business lines across Europe, Australia, and the Americas. International Product Engineering enables Vanguard's global business to scale through shared technology capabilities, identifying common business challenges and delivering solutions that can be leveraged across multiple regions.
In this role, you will operate at the intersection of business and technology, partnering with stakeholders, product managers, architects, and subject matter experts to transform ambiguous business challenges into clear problem statements, solution options, and strategic recommendations. You will facilitate discovery efforts, evaluate opportunities for reusable global capabilities, and help leaders determine where to invest engineering resources to deliver the greatest business value.
This role is ideal for professionals with backgrounds in consulting, business analysis, program management, product strategy, or technology advisory work who enjoy solving complex problems, influencing decisions, and collaborating across global teams.
Responsibilities
Lead discovery activities to understand, define, and analyze complex business challenges.
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to identify capability needs, evaluate solution approaches, and drive alignment.
Translate ambiguous business requests into clear problem statements, recommendations, and decision-ready materials.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Solutions Architects, and subject matter experts to assess options, risks, dependencies, and implementation considerations.
Develop business cases, analysis, and recommendations to support strategic investment decisions.
Present findings and recommendations to leaders across business and technology organizations.
Identify opportunities to deliver reusable solutions that provide value across multiple regions and business lines.
Facilitate discussions among stakeholders with competing priorities and perspectives.
Support initiatives involving global teams across multiple countries and time zones.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
Eight or more years of experience in consulting, business analysis, program management, product management, technology strategy, or related disciplines.
Experience facilitating discussions, driving consensus, and influencing decisions across multiple stakeholder groups.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting recommendations and insights to senior leaders.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex business needs into clear solution recommendations and actionable outcomes.
Understanding of technology architecture concepts and software delivery practices, including AWS.
Proven ability to build relationships and manage competing stakeholder priorities
Preferred Qualifications
Financial services industry experience.
Experience working across global organizations and multiple geographic regions.
Consulting experience supporting business or technology transformation initiatives.
