Job Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY:
Interpret and initiate various elements of Magna Mirrors quality system. Develop, perform and analyze product testing and processes. Perform quality system audits in support of Company and Customer standards. Lead in-house and/or on-site customer product sorts and re-inspections to resolve quality issues. Provide input on quality problems and recommend process changes, if necessary. Assist customer driven root cause analysis processes. Visually inspect customer part returns and determine disposition on any non-conforming product. Perform fixture reliability/repeatability analysis to test accuracy of measurement. Perform other duties as necessary including product launch support to Quality Engineers. Set visual standards and initiate changes in control plans, IPICS, charts. Represent operation quality when conveying information to customers and establishing control limits.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties will be performed at all levels within the progression. In addition, future employees must understand their responsibility of the environmental programs, including ISO14001. Understand the importance of conformance with all environmental procedures of the environmental management system, including emergency response. Understand the EMS consequences, actual or potential, of their work activities and/or their behaviors from specified work instructions.
Level I perform product testing using a variety of methods. Audit products and processes to ensure system compliance with customer requirements/specifications. Use and understand SPC applications. Lead in-house and/or on-site customer product sorts and re-inspections to resolve quality issues. Train operators on normal IPCP / work instruction responsibilities and off-line part inspection to help contain product quality problems. Issue, maintain and implement activities relating to corrective and/or preventative action. Provide input on causes or reasons for quality problems and recommend process changes if necessary. Gather and summarize data for monthly quality reports. Perform fixture reliability/repeatability analysis to test accuracy of measurement. Perform other duties as necessary including providing product launch support to Quality Engineers. Properly handle and disposes of any hazardous waste material in respective area.
Level II (in addition to level I responsibilities) work with engineering and/or manufacturing department to set visual standards. Completes necessary paperwork. Analyze computerized and/or manual SPC data and initiates changes in control plans, IPICS, and control charts. Represents operations quality when conveying information to customers and establishing acceptable control limits. Develop and analyzes product testing procedures. Sets up testing based on control limits given by Quality Engineers. Perform quality systems audits in support of Company and Customer standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Level I
Ability to work without direct supervision. Good written/verbal communication and interaction skills to communicate with internal and external contacts. Demonstrate problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot processes and equipment. Basic knowledge of standard work, in-process control sheets, and quality standards related to job. Able to train team members on standard work and associated quality standards. High School diploma; or equivalent. Basic math/reading, SPC, and fixture measurement skills including decimals and fractions. Ability to lift 40 pounds or more. Responsible for new operator training. Accountable for additional tasks assigned by direct report and/or GM.
Level II (in addition to level I requirements):
Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot, update, and work on all processes/testing/customers in designated area of responsibility. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills to communicate with internal and external contacts and work in a team environment. Must be able to lead, train, and support other staff. Strong project management and problem-solving skills to work on complex projects independently under minimal work direction. Advanced SPC skills to analyze, draw conclusions, and recommend course of action. Associate degree and/or Quality Technician certification by the American Society of Quality; or equivalent. Significant related work experience including blueprint reading skills.
