ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Support the documentation needs of an agile development and maintenance project.
  • Create, edit, and maintain Section 508 compliant documents, including project planning and management documents, deliverables, system life-cycle documents, reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project planning documents.
  • Review, edit, and update existing documents.
  • Ensure documents adhere to both Sparksoft and customer standards for writing style, format, and quality.
  • Collect information from technical personnel and translate it into clear and easily understandable writing.
  • Participate in peer reviews, providing constructive comments and edits that improve the quality of the documentation as well as the quality of the process.
  • Local candidates must be able to work Hybrid In-Office 3 days/week at Columbia, MD HQ Location

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • 3-5 years of technical writing experience within an Information Technology/SDLC environment 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent English language, grammar, and spelling skills for writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Experience working in IT development environment.
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment; ability to work well under tight deadlines and effectively interact with a wide range of personnel.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
  • Candidates must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Section 508 Compliance experience in technical writing.
  • Agile/SAFe foundational knowledge/environment exposure
  • Federal/GovCon industry experience 
  • Experience with Confluence and/or SharePoint
  • Experience working in Public Health IT industry/related.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree Required - plus 3-5 years of technical writing experience.
