The Role

Overview

Highlight is seeking an experienced Writer/Editor to provide support to a federal customer.

Responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively with graphic designers, editors, strategists, and other key staff
  • Provide extensive technical editing support services
  • Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Write clearly and effectively for the defined target audience.
  • Collaborate with writers to develop and refine content ideas.
  • Develop graphics for websites
  • Provide web content support for associated websites

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree & three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust
  • Experience providing technical editing and word processing support
  • Experience providing graphic development and web content management support for a federal agency
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills

Desired Qualications

  • Previous experience supporting disaster assistance and/or disaster recovery programs within FEMA or a state and local government agency
