Technical Transition Lead

Location: Hampshire (onsite 5 days per week)

Due to the nature of the work and the customers we support, the successful candidate must be eligible to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including the applicable residency requirements for the role, and have the right to work in the United Kingdom. Some roles may also be subject to nationality requirements where these are necessary to meet UK Government or contractual security obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical transition plan, coordinating onboarding of DXC services and exit of incumbent suppliers.
  • Act as the key technical interface between DXC, incumbent suppliers, internal stakeholders and security teams.
  • Provide technical oversight across cloud and on-premises infrastructure, networks, enterprise platforms, service desk and ITSM.
  • Ensure security, compliance and accreditation requirements are met, including data protection and protective monitoring.
  • Lead operational readiness, acceptance testing, service validation and knowledge transfer to ensure DXC is ready to support live services from day one.
  • Manage technical risks, dependencies and transition issues through to cutover and operational handover.
  • Provide clear technical reporting and advice to senior stakeholders and programme governance forums.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience leading IT service transitions in complex enterprise or multi-supplier environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL 4, service transition, release management and service validation.
  • Practical understanding of hybrid cloud, data centres, compute, storage and virtualisation.
  • Knowledge of enterprise networking and security, including firewalls, secure gateways, routing and boundary protection.
  • Experience transitioning service desk and ITSM environments, including major incident management, CMDB and multi-supplier tooling.
  • Strong supplier management skills, with the ability to hold suppliers accountable for technical deliverables and contractual commitments.
  • Excellent senior stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to explain technical risks and decisions clearly.
  • A calm, structured and collaborative approach to delivering complex transitions under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage risks, dependencies, service ownership and operational readiness through to cutover.

What does success look like

This is a high-profile opportunity to play a key role in a major enterprise technology transition, working across multiple suppliers and technical disciplines within a secure environment. You will have significant influence over the successful onboarding of a strategic technology partner and the transition of critical live services.

At DXC Technology, we believe strong connections and community are key to our success. Our work model prioritizes in-person collaboration while offering flexibility to support wellbeing, productivity, individual work styles, and life circumstances. We’re committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

Recruitment fraud is a scheme in which fictitious job opportunities are offered to job seekers typically through online services, such as false websites, or through unsolicited emails claiming to be from the company. These emails may request recipients to provide personal information or to make payments as part of their illegitimate recruiting process. DXC does not make offers of employment via social media networks and DXC never asks for any money or payments from applicants at any point in the recruitment process, nor ask a job seeker to purchase IT or other equipment on our behalf. More information on employment scams is available here.

DXC Technology Compensation & Benefits Highlights

The following summarizes recurring compensation and benefits themes identified from responses generated by popular LLMs to common candidate questions about DXC Technology and has not been reviewed or approved by DXC Technology.

  • Healthcare Strength — Health coverage includes multiple national carrier options and plan types, with HSA eligibility where applicable. Feedback suggests the medical, dental, and vision lineup is broad and comparable to large-firm offerings.
  • Retirement Support — A 401(k) program with employer matching and an annual true-up is available, with standard vesting provisions. This structure can help employees capture matching contributions over the year if contribution rates vary.
  • Leave & Time Off Breadth — Flexible or “unlimited” vacation is offered for many U.S. roles instead of accrual-based PTO. Feedback suggests the approach can support work-life balance when team norms allow adequate time away.
