The role is focussed on supporting product presales activities within Nokia’s Global Business Operations team. The Technical Tendering Specialist plays a critical role in translating customer requirements into clear, accurate, and compelling technical responses for Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposals (RFP). This includes analyzing customer needs, aligning proposed solutions with Nokia’s optical portfolio, and ensuring consistency with product roadmaps. The specialist works in close collaboration with sales teams to shape competitive, customer-focused solutions and with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) teams to ensure technical accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with current and future product capabilities.
- Analyze RFx documents to identify technical requirements and develop response strategies.
- Collaborate with sales teams to finalize customer solutions
- Draft, review, and refine technical responses ensuring clarity and alignment with customer needs, working with cross-functional teams including sales and PLM
- Maintain and develop a centralized, searchable technical product content library used for pre-sales activities
Educational Qualification
- A bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication, Telecommunication, or Computer Engineering is required.
- A master’s degree is considered an advantage.
Experience
- Over 8 years of experience in optical and packet transport systems and applications such as DWDM, OTN, POTN Ethernet.
- Strong understanding of Network Management Systems (NMS/OSS/SDN) and cloud-native deployment concepts
- Expertise in NBI/SBI, OpenConfig, YANG, and modern network management models, along with strong knowledge of optical network management standards and multi‑vendor interworking
- Awareness of market trends in optical networking include knowledge in advanced modulation schemes, pluggable optical transceivers, and open Multi-Source Agreements (MSAs)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Experience in pre-sales engineering, responding to customer queries or tenders, and creating technical presentations.
- Familiarity with key optical vendor products like Nokia and Ciena, is advantageous
- Knowledge of Layer-3 technologies is a plus.
