Role Summary

The Conveyor Belting Application Engineer serves as a technical and application resource supporting the full Conveyor Belting business across the Americas. This role works closely with Sales, customers, Product Management, Segment Specialists, and the Engineering Manager to provide application support, product recommendations, troubleshooting, conveyor design support, and technical guidance.

The position is customer-facing and field-oriented, supporting both day-to-day technical requests and strategic growth opportunities, including customer site visits, conveyor surveys, retrofits, competitive conversions, trials, troubleshooting, and technical training.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application support across the Conveyor Belting portfolio for Sales, Customer Service, distributors, OEMs, and end users.

• Partner with customers, Sales, and Engineering to assess equipment needs, including new conveyor layouts and retrofits of existing systems.

• Recommend conveyor belting solutions based on application requirements, operating conditions, customer needs, and opportunities to improve performance or reduce operating costs.

• Use technical expertise to demonstrate how recommended solutions meet customer requirements and differentiate from competing products.

• Support strategic customer projects and competitive conversions through technical review, product recommendations, application validation, and field support.

• Participate in customer site visits, conveyor surveys, product trials, installations, and on-site troubleshooting of installed equipment.

• Serve as a technical resource for customer inquiries and application requests, providing timely follow-up and clear recommendations.

• Troubleshoot conveyor and belt performance issues, considering product selection, conveyor design, installation, operating conditions, and maintenance.

• Develop or modify product specifications, drawings, and technical recommendations as needed to meet customer application requirements.

• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and product/application training for Sales, Customer Service, distributors, customers, and prospects.

• Identify opportunities to recommend improved materials, products, or conveyor solutions that can increase performance, reduce cost, or improve customer productivity.

• Partner with the Engineering Manager on complex applications, technical escalations, and high-priority customer issues.

• Support customer quality and product-performance investigations by providing application information, field observations, troubleshooting, and technical input into root-cause analysis.

• Partner with Product Management, R&D, Design Engineering, Operations, and global technical teams to evaluate customer requirements and determine whether products or solutions should be modified or developed.

• Support R&D and new product development activities through field knowledge, application requirements, testing, and customer validation.

• Work with Regional Segment Specialists and PMMs to support key market, customer, and growth initiatives.

• Participate in regional and global technical/application knowledge sharing and bring relevant best practices back to the Americas commercial organization.

• Provide field feedback on recurring application challenges, product performance, competitive solutions, and technical needs.

• Support new product introductions through application validation, customer trials, technical documentation, and training.

• Document technical requests, recommendations, and project activity using established systems and processes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.

• Relevant Experience: 1–3+ years of experience in application engineering, technical sales, product support, conveyor systems, or industrial manufacturing.

• Design Tools: Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD software preferred.

• Software Skills: Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce (SFDC) or similar case-management systems is a plus.

• Strong project management, organization, attention to detail, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple technical requests and customer projects.

• Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to confidently communicate technical recommendations to internal teams and external customers.

• Customer-focused with strong follow-through and personal accountability.

• Comfortable working independently while knowing when to escalate complex technical issues.

• Travel: Willingness to travel up to 40% for customer site visits, on-site troubleshooting, training, and technical project support.

• Languages: Spanish proficiency is a plus for supporting the broader Americas region.

• Ownership & Follow-Through: Take responsibility for technical requests and projects through resolution.

 

Salary Range - $70000-$75000

Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship, visa transfers, and employment-based immigration support are not available for this position now or in the future.

Location: U.S. – Remote (Preferred: Near a major airport)

 

 

Skills Required

  • 1-3+ years of experience in application engineering, technical sales, product support, conveyor systems, or industrial manufacturing
