Fleet Tech Support Specialist
Location: Austin, TX — On-site
Pay: $24–$25/hour
Schedule: Full-time, rotating shifts including weekends
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
We are hiring a Fleet Tech Support Specialist to support autonomous vehicle operations from an on-site operations center in Austin, TX.
This is a computer-based operations role. You will not be driving the vehicles. Instead, you will monitor vehicles remotely through computer systems, review camera feeds and vehicle data, identify issues, and provide timely support to keep fleet operations safe and running smoothly.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor assigned autonomous vehicles through computer-based fleet and remote-support systems
- Review multiple camera feeds and system information to identify potential issues
- Provide remote operational support when vehicles encounter situations requiring assistance
- Monitor vehicle status and respond to alerts or operational events
- Document interventions, observations, and incidents accurately in real time
- Use tools such as Jira, YouTrack, Notion, Google Sheets, or similar systems
- Review completed trips and identify unusual events or potential issues
- Troubleshoot technical and operational problems and escalate when necessary
- Participate in incident reviews and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Track operational metrics and maintain accurate records
- Communicate important information during shift handoffs
- Work closely with operations, engineering, and fleet teams
- Follow established safety procedures and operating protocols
What We’re Looking For
- 1+ year of experience in technical support, operations, dispatch, fleet operations, teleoperations, systems monitoring, or a similar environment
- Strong computer and technical troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable monitoring multiple screens, camera feeds, and system information
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused during repetitive monitoring tasks
- Ability to make quick, well-reasoned decisions when situations change
- Experience with Jira, YouTrack, ServiceNow, Zendesk, or similar ticketing/operations systems is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organizational and documentation skills
- Basic understanding of traffic laws and right-of-way rules
- Autonomous vehicle, robotics, automotive, EV, transportation, IT/networking, or gaming experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with a team
- Willingness to learn autonomous vehicle technology and new software systems

Requirements

- Clean driving record preferred/required for the role

Skills Required
- 1+ year of technical support, operations support, fleet support, or similar experience
- Valid driver's license held for at least 3 years
- Strong driving experience and confidence in different road and weather conditions
- Experience with vehicle dispatch, fleet readiness, startup/shutdown procedures, or similar operational tasks
- Basic vehicle maintenance, routine service, mechanical, or technical troubleshooting experience
- Comfortable responding quickly to technical or safety-related incidents
- Comfortable using Unix/Linux command line
- Strong computer and software skills
- Experience with Slack and ticketing systems such as Jira or YouTrack
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working on-site around vehicles
- Comfortable with the $20 - $24/hour pay range
