Job Description:
Job Description:Microchip CAD is seeking to employ a CAD Engineer to develop and support for Digital and Analog Mixed Signal design flow and methodology for advanced technology nodes.
A successful candidate in this role will be responsible for developing and implementing CAD flow and methodologies as per the design team’s requirements. The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of the tools and flows required for the design and development of Digital and Mixed Signal designs. He or she will also be knowledgeable about design infrastructure and the implications to environment and work practice.
He / She will work closely with various business units across the globe to understand their needs and foster innovative ideas to solve complex problems.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Microchip BU teams to ensure Microchip’s digital and mixed signal design flows and tools are robust and reliable.
- Provide front line support for other Microchip staff in the use of these tools and flows
- Provide an interface with external tool vendors and suppliers to resolve issues and provide guidance as needed
- Develop, test, and release scripts and tools as specified to aid in digital or mixed signal design
- Document or otherwise archive developed material for future use or re-use
- Such other comparable duties as may be required by Microchip management
Requirements/Qualifications:
Requirements:- Good understanding of Analog Mixed Signal(AMS )circuit design (DoT and AoT) methodologies
- Mixed Mode Simulation Environments:
- Cadence VerilogA, Verilog AMS
- Synopsys VCS, VCS-AMS
- Siemens Symphony AMS
- IO and standard cell characterization
- Must be experienced with EDA tools, specifically Cadence Liberate, Liberate-AMS, Synopsys Primelib, Virtuoso, ADE, or their equivalents
- Ability to conduct simulation tools/flows related training and automation preferred
- Experience with Verilog and mixed signal simulations
- Must be experienced with EDA tools, specifically Cadence Xcelium, Siemens Questa, Synopsys VCS or their equivalents
- Design debugging skills using Verdi, Simvision and Visualizer
- Exposure to EDA simulation tools like Primesim, Spectre, SpectreX etc. is preferred
- Strong experience in Design Automation using scripting languages like Perl,TCL, Shell, Python etc. is required
- Must be familiar with Linux OS, grid computing concepts such as LSF
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
