Position: Technical Services Manager

We are seeking for an experienced Technical Services Manager to join our team in Mashonaland West (Zimbabwe).

Responsibilities

Technical & Operational Coordination:

  • Supervise technical and engineering activities in coordination with the Project Manager to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.

  • Oversee engineering and maintenance teams, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and meets required specifications.

  • Design and implement improved processes or operational policies to enhance overall efficiency and performance.

  • Provide drilling layouts and blast design to support the Drilling & Blasting Department.

  • Design and update track and haul road layouts to ensure safe and efficient transit of heavy machinery.

  • Interpret and review plans, drawings, and technical specifications to support the Production and Project Managers in achieving operational objectives.

  • Coordinate with Production, Topography, and Drilling & Blasting departments to optimize technical operations, project timelines, safety performance, and cost efficiency.

  • Assess and report on technical system performance and provide input to management for continuous improvement.

Project Control & Cost Management:

  • Contribute to project scheduling, progress tracking, and cost control.

  • Conduct cost analysis and propose measures to optimize project expenses while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and legal standards.

  • Provide technical support to procurement and planning activities as required.

  • Ensure effective communication between engineering, production, and support functions to guarantee project integration and execution.

Safety, Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure all technical and engineering activities comply with applicable legal, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Promote and monitor workplace hygiene, safety, and environmental performance.

  • Contribute to risk assessments and technical evaluations of operational changes or improvements.

  • Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Civil, or Industrial Engineering (or related technical field).

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical or engineering roles within mining or large-scale earthmoving projects, or relevant experience with EPSA Group.

  • Proven experience in mine design, drilling layouts, haul road and infrastructure design, and technical project support.

  • Strong understanding of earthmoving operations, maintenance coordination, and production workflows.

  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.

  • Advanced training in project management or process improvement.

  • Experience with mine planning software and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Surpac, Deswik, Vulcan).

  • Knowledge of drilling and blasting principles, road design standards, and equipment access optimization.

  • Familiarity with budgeting, cost control systems, and reporting tools.

  • Experience in remote or international project environments.

  • Safety or quality management certifications (advantageous).
