This position reports directly to the site Rural Metro Fire Chief. The Technical Services Coordinator will oversee inspections, testing and minor repairs of all fire protection systems to ensure compliance with applicable OSHA and State of Alabama laws and regulations, NFPA standards, and BASF and the Contractor’s policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the inspection and testing of all fire protection systems to include:
- Standpipe Systems
- Control Valves (PIVs)
- Fixed Monitors
- Fire Hydrants
- Stationary Fire Pumps
- Ensure all inspections, tests, and repairs comply with applicable OSHA, NFPA, and Client regulations, policies, and Standards
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Must have 15 years of fire protection system installation and service experience with at least 10 years industrial experience.
- Must possess a strong working knowledge of applicable fire protection codes and standards.
Maintenance, inspection, and testing of fire protection systems; examples include monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections and testing of weekly running of fire pumps, cycling PIVs, flowing and flushing fire hydrants.
The normal day shift staff will consist of one (1) Tech Services Coordinator working five (5) eight (8) hour days.
