We're looking for a Technical Security Engineer to help us expand to our security operations across the APAC region. This role sits at the intersection of technology and physical security, where you will design, implement and manage comprehensive security systems that protect our people and operations.
You will be responsible for the strategic planning and hands-on implementation of enterprise security systems, focusing on TDS visitor management, CCure access control and Genetec CCTV solutions. A significant part of your work will involve leading security integration for new construction projects and major refurbishments, including data centre builds, collaborating with architects and engineers from initial design through commissioning to ensure optimal security outcomes.
Technology drives everything we do at Jane Street, and security is no exception. You will evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI-enhanced video analytics, advanced biometric systems and intelligent automation solutions that improve security effectiveness and operational efficiency. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, manage vendor relationships and mentor technical staff across multiple locations.
This role requires someone who can think strategically about security technology project management, clearly articulate their plan to key stakeholders and get hands-on with complex technical implementations. You will ensure compliance across diverse regulatory environments, create technology roadmaps that position Jane Street at the forefront of security innovation across our growing APAC presence.
About YouWe don't expect you to have experience with every emerging technology in security – we are happy to hire talented security professionals and teach them what they need to know. However, the ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Deep technical expertise with enterprise security systems; experience with TDS visitor management (system administration, integration, multi-site deployment), CCure access control (system design, implementation, complex integrations) and Genetec CCTV solutions (security centre platform, video management, large-scale surveillance) specifically is a plus
- Extensive construction, design and project management experience leading security implementations from architectural planning through commissioning, with proven success in both new builds and complex refurbishments
- 10+ years of progressive experience in technical security management, with demonstrated success delivering complex, multi-site projects on time and within budget
- Strong regional knowledge with at least 5+ years working in APAC markets, understanding local regulations and market nuances is ideal but not required
- An innovation mindset with experience evaluating and implementing emerging technologies such as AI-enhanced analytics, biometric systems and cloud-based security platforms
- Excellent leadership and communication skills for managing technical teams that include both internal and external relationships
- Relevant professional certifications in security platforms and project management; being a Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM) certified is a plus

What We Do
Jane Street works differently. As a liquidity provider and market maker, we trade on more than 200 trading venues across 45 countries and help form the backbone of global markets. Our approach is rooted in technology and rigorous quantitative analysis, but our success is driven by our people.
Our bright, beautiful offices in the heart of New York, London, Hong Kong, and Amsterdam are open and buzzing with conversation. We come from many backgrounds and encourage travel between offices to share perspectives. Some of our best ideas come from bumping into a visiting colleague at the office coffee bar.
Markets move fast. Staying competitive as we’ve grown has required constant invention—of new trading strategies, technology, and processes. We’ve found this is easier when you hire humble, kind people. They tend to help each other, and prioritize teamwork over titles.
We invest heavily in teaching and training. There’s a library and a classroom in every office, because deepening your understanding of something is considered real work. Guest lectures, classes, and conferences round out the intellectual exchanges that happen every day.
People grow into long careers at Jane Street because there are always new and interesting problems to solve, systems to build, and theories to test. More than twenty years after our founding, it still feels like we’re just getting started.
