Job Description:
Mold Masters is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our team in Georgetown , Ontario. The Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) is responsible for the coordination of the application activities within and assigned territory. Working in concert with Technical Field Sales, the TSE will be the main point of contact for the customer, and will work with various departments within Mold-Masters to fulfill order commitments and project schedules.
The TSE will look for the next opportunity within the customer (prospecting) for additional sales. The successful incumbent will be responsive to the customer and drive the project/order through Mold-Masters processes in an effective and efficient manner; this will include development of quotations (pricing), technical review of new orders and subsequent project management.
Additionally, the Technical Sales Engineer will be the first point of contact to assist the customer in troubleshooting technical issues. The TSE will gain an understanding and make recommendations to resolve the issue or may make the decision to transfer the issue to Master Care and be responsible for coordinating additional personnel to the customer site to resolve the problem.

What you’ll do:
· Support of the Sales Process and work in tandem with Field Sales:
· When speaking with Customers, looks for opportunities for the next sale
· Respond to technical queries from the customers and Sales team;
· Assess feasibility and propose technical solutions for applications;
· Prepare quotations for proposed technical solution. Negotiate price as required under the prescribed standards;
· Review technical data of application, integration of hot runner system and mold design to ensure successful application of hot runner system;
· Organize and lead technical review meetings to ensure orders and technical requirements of customers are identified and that the order specification will meet customer requirements and expectations
· Assess and analyze the applications for resin specifications, gate locations etc., and recommend simulation analysis as required for the project to ensure conclusive results;
· Evaluate the results of Filing analysis / Rheology / Thermal analysis and suggest best solution to customers;
· Provide concept of manifold layout, special components of hot runner system and sufficient data of application to the designer to ensure optimum hot runner system is designed;
· As the main point of contact to the customer, the TSE is required to coordinate the project plan for the order through the process to meet the required time line of the customer e.g. prototyping, design, manufacturing, testing, quality, development of quotations, etc.
· First point of contact for troubleshooting systems, will make the decision to transfer issues to Master Care; Advise whenever field service is recommended;
· Review technical feasibility and confirm pricing of special spare parts;
· Keep up to date with the latest technological developments within the injection molding industry.
· Travel to the customers’ sites as required (infrequent).
The incumbent will prepare quotations (pricing) and coordinate work within the required Mold Masters processes to ensure the design and implementation of projects are completed on a timely basis. The incumbent is responsible to solve technical problems related to MM hot runner solutions based upon experience, understanding of plastic behavior, understanding of the
injection molding process, and mechanical engineering principles. They will accomplish goals by utilizing pertinent data from customer contacts, marketing direction, manufacturing capability, tooling design and R&D. The TSE is the first point of contact for the Customer and is required to update the Customer on the status of the projects (orders).
Basic Requirements:
· Must have a university degree or College Diploma in Engineering.
· A minimum of 2 years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience (for entry level)
· Experience in an Engineering related role within the plastic injection molding industry (from intermediate to senior-level position)
Great to Haves:
· Experience with Salesforce and SAP would be a benefit.
· Previous experience as Process Engineer or Industrial Engineering or Tool and Die Maker would be an asset.
· Previous experience with flow/thermal simulation as related to injection molding processes is strongly preferred.
