Role Overview: We're looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Technical Reviewer to join our Organic Certification division to help ensure our inspection and certification programmes run correctly and efficiently, overseeing the full certification process from application review through to the final certification decision. You'll also play a key role in maintaining the quality and integrity of FCID's certification outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review NPOP, USDA-NOP and EU audit documents.
  • Facilitate and ensure the correct execution of the certification process from start to finish.
  • Conduct application reviews and secondary reviews of projects.
  • Implement new or updated documents, both internally and externally.
  • Manage client relations, including marketing, offers, filing, and checking returned offers.
  • Send certification criteria and invoices to clients and schedule first inspections.
  • Monitor inspections and non-conformities and ensure all documentation is accurately filed.
  • Review inspection documentation, and draft, sign, and send reports accordingly.
  • Make certification decisions, issue certification marks, and sign and send certificates to clients.
  • Manage post-certification activities, including scheduling follow-up inspections, issuing invoices, and deciding on suspension or withdrawal of certification where necessary.
  • Maintain and update the List of Certificates and Clients and carry out traceability actions as required.
  • Assist with the handling of claims, appeals, and complaints, including investigation and follow-up.
  • Register, select, implement, and follow up on improvements, including filing of Improvement Forms.
  • Train reviewers and assistants and identify and propose training needs for Inspectors.
  • Submit and follow up on quotes and tenders.
  • Ensure optimal operations of the division at all times.
  • Undertake any other related tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant university degree or a comparable qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Technology, Aquaculture, Apiculture, or Animal Husbandry.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the agriculture field, with at least two years in a discipline relevant to the scope of certification.
  • Experience in reviewing NPOP, USDA-NOP and EU audit documents.
  • Strong spoken and written command of English.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, certification body processes, and specific management system standards.
  • Understanding of client products, processes, business management practices, and risks in relation to products and processes.
  • Awareness of trade agreements, market conditions, contractual relations, and commercial practices.
  • Valid authorisation certificate for the Certifier's role, approved by the Quality Manager.

Skills Required
