Technical Project Manager

This is a remote position.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong software development background to lead and coordinate technical projects from planning through delivery.

This is not a purely administrative project management role. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience as a software developer and be able to understand code, technical architecture, APIs, databases, integrations, and development workflows. They will work closely with developers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into clear technical plans, manage delivery, identify risks, and ensure projects are completed on time and to the required standard.

• Lead technical projects from initial requirements gathering through development, testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
  
• Translate business requirements into clear technical requirements, user stories, specifications, and development tasks.
  
• Create project plans, define timelines, assign responsibilities, and manage priorities across multiple projects.
  
• Coordinate the work of developers, designers, QA specialists, and other technical team members.
  
• Review technical solutions and provide informed input on architecture, integrations, database structures, APIs, and development approaches.
  
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions when required.
  
• Monitor development progress, identify blockers, and work with the team to resolve technical and operational issues.
  
• Manage sprint planning, backlog prioritization, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  
• Ensure projects follow appropriate development, testing, documentation, security, and deployment processes.
  
• Communicate project progress, risks, dependencies, and decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including requirements, timelines, technical decisions, and status reports.
  
• Support troubleshooting and incident resolution for existing systems when necessary.
  
• Continuously improve project management and software development processes.
  

• At least 4 years of professional experience in software development.
  
• At least 2 years of experience managing technical or software development projects.
  
• Strong hands-on programming experience in one or more languages or frameworks, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, PHP, Java, C#, React, Node.js, or similar technologies.
  
• Ability to read, understand, review, and discuss code with developers.
  
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, system architecture, databases, APIs, integrations, version control, testing, and deployment.
  
• Experience managing Agile or Scrum-based development teams.
  
• Experience using project management tools such as Jira, ClickUp, Monday.com, Asana, or similar platforms.
  
• Working knowledge of GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or other version-control platforms.
  
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Ability to translate complex technical information for non-technical stakeholders.
  
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, application security, and infrastructure management.
  
• Experience managing distributed or remote development teams.
  
• Experience working with external clients and gathering technical requirements.
  
• Relevant project management or Agile certification is an advantage.
  

• Projects are delivered on time and within the agreed scope.
  
• Technical requirements are clear, complete, and understood by the development team.
  
• Risks and blockers are identified and addressed early.
  
• Stakeholders receive consistent and accurate project updates.
  
• Development processes, documentation, and accountability improve.
  
• The Technical Project Manager can challenge, validate, and contribute to technical decisions rather than relying entirely on the development team.
