The Role

Turion Space is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our Platform Engineering team, reporting to the Head of Platform. You'll coordinate projects across Platform, Network, Security, and IT Support teams as we build our internal developer platform while maintaining current operations. This role requires someone who excels at managing compliance-driven technical projects and can balance immediate needs with long-term platform transformation goals.

Note: This role is on-site only. We do not provide remote/hybrid roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive platform engineering initiatives from conception to delivery across multiple teams

  • Balance operational support requirements with strategic platform development

  • Ensure all projects meet NIST 800-171, CMMC, and other compliance requirements

  • Define and track platform adoption metrics and developer experience improvements

  • Manage projects spanning both AWS cloud and physical infrastructure

  • Coordinate security and compliance documentation without disrupting engineering velocity

  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration while respecting specialized expertise

  • Translate compliance requirements into actionable project milestones

  • Partner with Head of Platform to execute technical roadmaps and vision

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Personnel Security Clearance (PCL)

  • 5+ years as a Technical Project Manager or Technical Program Manager

  • 3+ years with platform/infrastructure/DevOps teams

  • Proven experience managing compliance-driven projects (NIST, SOC2, or similar)

  • Strong cloud infrastructure background (AWS preferred)

  • Experience with containerization, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code

  • Track record of balancing operational support with strategic initiatives

  • Excellent communication across technical and compliance domains

  • Experience managing projects with security clearance constraints

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • Aerospace/defense industry experience

  • Direct NIST 800-171, CMMC, or SOC2 project experience

  • Platform engineering and DevSecOps knowledge

  • Experience measuring developer productivity and platform adoption

  • Understanding of both cloud and on-premises infrastructure

  • Former engineering/development background

Technical Project Manager: $140,000 - $180,000 USD
