The Technical Project Manager II will primarily contribute to the company’s progress by tracking and shepherding development projects, including interacting with internal and external collaborators to ensure accurate timeline and resource reporting. At any given time, multiple projects may be in progress and require attention.
Responsibilities include:
- Synthesize discussions of current and upcoming work into timelines of activities
- Continuously check in on active timelines to ensure accuracy and escalating deviations, as necessary
- Use technical knowledge to ask probing questions of project engineers and fully understand the requirements of projects
- Develop relationships with project engineers and adjusting exact project management techniques to best suit individual needs
- Make recommendations for de-risking crucial tasks and/or parallelizing workstreams where possible
- Communicate project status information through in-person meetings as well as digital reports
- Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
What we need you to bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, or related field of study
- 2+ years of project engineering or project management experience
- Ability to capture and maintain a high volume of detailed information
- Basic knowledge of engineering design, concepts, principles, practices, and procedures
- Ability to work on problems of moderate scope, which are often varied and routine, where the analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
- Ability to apply learned techniques and contributes to the analysis and investigation to solve problems
- Ability to work independently receives little instruction on day-to-day work
- Strong ability to build internal and external working relationships to solve mutual problems by collaborating on procedures
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
What we want you to bring to the team:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project
- Fundamental knowledge of project management methodologies, including critical path analysis
- Experience managing projects with design, development, installation, and verification of technology hardware or chemical process systems and equipment.
Compensation:
- The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $85,000-$95,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
