DC Blox operates on a hybrid schedule. We work in the office Tuesday - Thursday and remote on Mondays and Fridays.



Description Summary:

A Technical Program Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the successful execution of our data center projects. Your expertise in data center design, construction, and project management will be instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of our projects.

 

Essential Duties:

Design Leadership:

  • Participate in and/or lead the design process for new data center facilities, expansions, and retrofits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and construction professionals, to develop innovative and efficient designs.
  • Help develop and manage design standards and RFP/RFQ documentation.

 Technical Expertise:

  • Apply your deep understanding of data center infrastructure, power distribution, cooling systems, and network architecture to create robust and scalable designs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

 Project Management:

  • Manage end-to-end design projects, from concept to completion.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to meet project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.

 Risk Mitigation:

  • Identify potential risks during the design phase and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Anticipate challenges related to scalability, redundancy, and operational efficiency.

 Vendor Management:

  • Collaborate with equipment vendors, contractors, and suppliers to select appropriate solutions and materials.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of equipment.

 Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of design documents, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project goals.

Budget Oversight:

  • Work closely with the finance team to manage project budgets.
  • Monitor expenses, track costs, and make informed decisions to optimize spending.

 Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate design progress, updates, and milestones to internal teams, executives, and clients.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders.

 Education/Training/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data center design, construction, or related roles.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
